Senior Software Engineer

At Ampion (formerly Acadia Micro) you can expect to learn about a novel and growing segment of the energy industry, and will collaborate daily with founders and a tight-knit technical team. We strive to create an inclusive, adaptable environment where developers can exercise their own initiative and learn from each other. Our development process is iterative, agile, and focused on delivering useful features that work within the highly regulated and always-changing energy industry. At the moment, our stack includes Rails, AngularJS, React/Redux, ElasticSearch, and PostgreSQL. But the system is quickly accelerating past the MVP stage and we are designing changes that will deliver long-term viability and awesomeness in data warehousing, visualization, security and scalability. Experience from outside of our current stack would absolutely be valued.

Main Responsibilities

Key Qualifications

  • checker-bullet 7-10 years development and delivery experience with ruby, Rails 4.x backed by relational databases, and web dev in general
  • checker-bullet Demonstrated experience with JavaScript (especially using modern JS frameworks/component systems such as React, Angular, or Polymer), as well as jQuery
  • checker-bullet Solid understanding of web front-end development (JS, CSS, HTML) and appreciation for good-looking, easy to use UI. Experience with Bootstrap as a CSS framework
  • checker-bullet Experience working on a fast-paced development team and supporting dynamic operating requirements with an agile, lean, Continuous Delivery approach
  • checker-bullet Great understanding of OO and FP principles including strong design patterns knowledge, and appreciation for modular, decoupled, idempotent, and well-tested code

  • checker-bullet Experience working for an energy company, renewable or otherwise, and an understanding of net metering

Sales Manager

Responsible for overseeing sales activities within Ampion. Thorough, detail-oriented individual who understands and enforces sales quotas. A successful Sales Manager oversees sales support staff and representatives, as well as measuring sales metrics and advising the company about sales performance.

Main Responsibilities

  • checker-bullet Perform Sales forecast based on direction from Vice President of Sales
  • checker-bullet Direct scheduling of software demonstrations based on client requests via email/phone
  • checker-bullet Develop and follow up on business leads
  • checker-bullet Cold call, direct email, and perform other lead generation activities as needed to support sales representatives
  • checker-bullet Manage team of sales staff under direction of Vice President of Sales
  • checker-bullet Assign sales territories, set sales goals, and establish training programs for Ampion’s sales representatives
  • checker-bullet Advise the sales representatives on ways to improve their sales performance

Customer Care Representative

Reporting to the Customer Care Manager, the Customer Care Representative will provide front line customer service to distributed generation customers across the nation.

Main Responsibilities

  • checker-bullet Articulate complex concepts in a simple and straightforward manner
  • checker-bullet Demonstrate ownership of and advocacy for customer issues
  • checker-bullet Maintain knowledge of various distributed generation programs

  • checker-bullet Set follow up tasks as necessary
  • checker-bullet Escalate customer issues to team analyst and manager as necessary
